Personal Profile

Freelance graphic/website designer working for a local Best Western, with a slight penchant for photography. Oh, and I’m also an asshole, dork, freak, geek, goth, punk, psycho, madman, musician, otaku, Dominant, poet, writer, starving artist, and a lot more. Really, I hate labels, but I figured I’d put up everything I’ve been called, because you’ll probably be calling me one of them at some point. In terms of interests: music, above all else–playing, listening, etc. Then it’s mainly stuff associated with computers: web/graphic design, gaming, websurfing, online chats, some audio and video tooling here & there. then i have this weird fascination with sharp objects, odd clothing, and all things obscure.

Real Name: Look around. It’s on all the pages anyway. If you need both halves of it, you need to know me in reality, anyway.
Age: 22
Gender: Male, last time I checked…
Eyes/Hair: Green/black. Don’t get those two confused.
Height/Weight: 5′11″, 175 pounds.
Religion: LaVeyan Satanist in philosophy, Atheist in practice. I find that having rituals in an anti-magick religion seems rather… well… need I say more? Also studying the Church of the SubGenius. Reading “The God Delusion” by Richard Dawkins, which may clear up the confusion here…
Bad Habits: None, as of right now. Never smoked anything in any form, had a few types of alcohol on occasion but never pursued it. I suppose I get a little crazy about music, and I’m an insomniac to the point of painful exhaustion, but that’s about it…
Favorite Music: It is the blood and breath of my life. I love it, hate it, live it, and let it break me into little pieces now and again. There is no faster way for me to meet and relate to people than with music, and there’s no leisurely event that gives me a natural high more than a concert (well, besides sex, but now we’re splitting hairs, people). I have been to almost 100 concerts in the past 3 years, had some moving experiences, some life-changing, and some immense disappointments, but I’m grateful for them all. My personal music collection encompasses over 300 CDs, and over 70,000 MP3s on my computer. And YES, I DO enjoy all of them!

I suppose I should be specific. Bands I’ve seen and loved live: The Mars Volta, Porcupine Tree, Gogol Bordello, Primus, Sigur Ros, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Flogging Molly, Placebo, The Red Elvises, Therion, The Presidents of the United States Of America, Megadeth, Merzbow, Danzig, Behemoth, Opeth, Dream Theater, Coheed And Cambria, Dredg, Bauhaus, Nickel Creek, Barenaked Ladies, Ministry, Mute Math, A Silver Mt. Zion, Sponge, Live, Mogwai, Nurse With Wound, Radiohead, Deerhoof, Kultur Shock, ZOX, Mindless Self Indulgence, the Foo Fighters, Peeping Tom, Pearl Jam, Matisyahu, Alice In Chains, The Polyphonic Spree, VAST, TV On The Radio, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, Man Man, KMFDM, Storm Large and the Balls, Sufjan Stevens, Blue Man Group, Tenacious D, Trey Anastasio… that’s most of the ones I’ve SEEN, but they were all a blast. There’s plenty of bands I listen to that I haven’t seen live, either: A Perfect Circle, the Ramones, the Sex Pistols, Rage Against The Machine, Faith No More, Soundgarden, Ours, the Smashing Pumpkins, Rhapsody, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Circa Survive, the Dresden Dolls, Joanna Newsom, the Weakerthans, Dead Can Dance, Incubus, Green Day, Phish, the Eurythmics, the Pogues, Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Nile, Buckethead, David Bowie, At The Drive-In, Sparta, King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonius Monk, Liars, Belle & Sebastian, Looper, Drunk, My Lai, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, the Misfits, Tom Waits… I don’t think I could even name HALF of them. Chances are, if I hear it, I’ll love it.

Favorite Movies: My selection of movies has come very randomly lately. All-time favorites (though established in recent years): Fight Club, V for Vendetta, Serenity, A Clockwork Orange, and the Pirates of the Carribean movies. I am a fan of the Matrix, Star Wars, James Bond, and Lord of the Rings movies, and some of the Harry Potter ones. My taste really jumps all over the place; aside from cookie-cutter action and horror movies (not including SAW, which was brilliant even in its bad acting) as well as “chick flicks”, I like pretty much anything. Recent favorites include: A Scanner Darkly, 300, Casino Royale, and Something The Lord Made.

Favorite TV Shows: TV shows, like I said, are difficult to enjoy, but I’ve got a few. Favorite show ever is Firefly, which I’m disappointed that I missed out on the first time it came around on television. Other passed-on shows include The Pretender, Profiler, Dark Angel, The Others, Vengeance Unlimited, and Jake 2.0; in terms of current shows, I enjoy House, Shark, and an occasional bit of CSI/Law&Order/Cold Case/Without A Trace and all similar shows of that nature (though NCIS is my favorite, for the cast alone).

Favorite Books: Been taking up a lot of reading recently because of my boring shifts at work. Favorite recent authors include Chuck Klosterman, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett (Good Omens is currently my favorite book EVER), Kage Baker and Nick Hornby. I’m currently reading: The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, Sex Drugs And Cocoa Puffs by Klosterman, Sky Coyote by Baker, and I just finished (and very much enjoyed) Ian Fleming’s Casino Royale. I am much for books of fantasy, with wit and humor; hence, also a penchant for authors such as J.K. Rowling, Peter David (Sir Apropos Of Nothing and the King Arthur satires), Chuck Palahniuk, and Douglas Adams.
